Role

The NCUC develops and makes recommendations on the science community’s priorities for:

  • instrument deployment, recovery, and access;
  • data tools; and
  • experiments

Meetings

The NCUC meets two times per year for one full day; one meeting in early winter to develop priorities and make recommendations on the summer cruise operations and one meeting in the fall to develop and make recommendations on data tools and experiments. The quorum is at least half of the members.

Members

One representative from each major research theme (to a maximum of 10; one of whom would act as Chair) and one representative of the data user community. New members are nominated by current membership and invited to the committee by the Associate Director, Sicence. Members serve 2 or 3-year terms to enable a staggered rotation of membership.

Liaisons

Associate Director, Science; Associate Director, Engineering; Associate Director, IT; Chair, NC Science Planning Committee.

Reporting
