Attracting Media Interest
NEPTUNE Canada captured the attention of national and international media outlets in November. Here's a quick recap.
Discovery Channel
On 12 November, our project was featured recently in a segment of the Discovery Channel's Daily Planet. NEPTUNE Canada's Chris Barnes (director) and Mairi Best (associate director, science) were both interviewed in the segment, hosted by Ziya Tong and Jay Ingram.

Radio-Canada.ca
On 22 November, CBC Radio-Canada's French language program Découverte aired a segment tracing the history of our project up to the present. NEPTUNE Canada's Benoît Pirenne (associate director, IT), Mairi Best (associate director, science), and participating scientist Kim Juniper (University of Victoria) were featured in this piece.

The National
On 6 December, CBC's The National aired an 11-minute English language version of the Découverte segment.

I cannot access the Dec. 6 news clip (11 min) on the national that I want to show to my grade 6 class. Please help!!

hslebring, I'm not sure why you can't access the clip -- you should be able to view it by clicking the linked picture above. Could be an issue with your web browser or your Internet connection. Try upgrading your browser or trying a different one. Thanks for your comments, Elle. I've just been trying to find a working permalink on the CBC website and haven't had any luck. Even links generated by their site searches don't seem to activate the video sequence. So, I guess we're stuck with this for now. The segment is available, however, when you search the CBC video library for "NEPTUNE Canada".
